The Château de Servière located in Marseille has partnered with ESDAC to create all the furnishings for Paréidolie the first contemporary art fair in Marseille which took place on 30 and 31 August 2014.

All of the 7 selected projects were completed in 6 days with recuperation elements. An enriching but also revealing exercise. It confirms that the designer is a designer capable of reinventing himself, making choices to meet demand. We had little time and a reduced budget, recovering and working as a team allowed us to be more efficient and stay within budget while bringing a new vision of interior design to future visitors. With my team, we mainly took care of the bistro corner. Painting it all in white allowed us to match all the projects.

A space inspired by nature, its similarities with creation through recuperation.

Creation through recuperation and natural phenomena have similarities. A rendering that is sometimes random, mixed almost hybrid, in short, the unexpected. This observation was our starting point to inspire our choices and put us into action.

The structure that separates the bistro space we were taking care of and the relaxation area was created from scraps of wood randomly placed on the ground, like a tree being drawn and then screwed together. LThe structure of the bar itself was built from scraps of a wooden structure and a central post from an old table, all collected from Emmaus. We took advantage of the format of these scraps to place pieces of synthetic grass on top of the bar (the only part of the project that will keep its colour) that we cover with Plexiglas scraps in order to keep a stable work surface where you can put your glass in complete peace of mind. We make the 4 barstools from chairs collected from Emmaus as well. Renovated and mixed to obtain the right seat height, we obtain functional stools that look like hybrids. Finally, we have taken the liberty of adding a veleda painting ornamented with the remaining wood scraps, like a guest book, so that we can leave a note in it after its passage through the exhibition.
